DENVER (AP) — David Jones scored in overtime last night to give the Colorado Avalanche a 1-0 win over the St. Louis Blues. Semyon Varlamov stopped 33 shots for the Avalanche, who have won three of their last four games. Jaroslav Halak made 19 saves for the Blues.
NEW YORK (AP) — Vancouver Canucks forward Jannik Hansen has been suspended one game by the NHL for roughing Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa. The incident took place in the third period of Chicago's win over Vancouver on Tuesday. Hossa had to be helped off the ice after Hansen hit him in the back of the head with his forearm.
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Jared Berggren and Ben Brust scored 12 points apiece last night as No. 19 Wisconsin topped Northwestern 69-41. The Badgers had five players with at least eight points and held the Wildcats to 29 percent shooting. Reggie Hearn had 13 points for Northwestern.
WASHINGTON (AP) — D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera scored a career-high 33 points last night as No. 11 Georgetown defeated DePaul 90-66. Nate Lubick added 15 points for the Hoyas, who pulled away with a 15-4 run at the end of the first half. Brandon Young led the Blue Demons with 16 points.
