ALLENDALE, Mich. (WOOD) - The predicted snow forced the Grand Valley State University Lakers to move up their travel plans to Alabama to take on Northwest Missouri State for the national title this Saturday.

The Lakers play in their sixth NCAA Division 2 title game this decade. The team planned on leaving Wednesday, but GVSU officials confirmed they would leave Tuesday night, so as not to get caught in any bad weather.

24 Hour News 8 will continue to follow the Lakers throughout the week.
