ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Michigan's women's basketball team is headed to the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row.

The eighth-seeded Wolverines (21-10) face ninth-seeded Villanova (21-10) on Sunday in Stanford, Calif. The winner takes on either Stanford (31-2) or Tulsa (16-16) in the next round.

The No. 8 seed ties the highest in program history. Michigan was also seeded eighth in 2000 and 2001.

It's the fifth NCAA tournament appearance for coach Kim Barnes Arico, who took over at Michigan after last season. She made her first four NCAA appearances with St. John's.
