Santiago, Tigers agree on 2-year deal

DETROIT (AP) - Infielder Ramon Santiago has agreed to a two-year contract to remain with the Detroit Tigers.
The 32-year-old Santiago hit .260 in 101 games last season, playing mostly second base. He hit .295 after the All-Star break, helping Detroit pull away to win the AL Central in impressive fashion.
Santiago agreed to the deal Wednesday.
Santiago was one of four players to make at least 22 starts at second base for the Tigers in 2011, along with Ryan Raburn, Carlos Guillen and Will Rhymes. Guillen is not expected back next year.
Santiago has played 10 seasons in the major leagues, eight with Detroit. He's played in 306 games over the last three seasons.
He started 40 games at second base this year and 22 at shortstop.
