GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Tuesday night high school hoops weren't frozen by the inclement weather. A handful of teams braving the weather to put their records on the line.
Godwin Heights, now ranked No. 1 in Class B, outscored NorthPointe Christian 47 to 31 in the second half to keep perfect at 10-0 on the year. The big second half comeback was powered by Delaney Blaylock's game high 24 points and his Wolverine teammate Quantrell Hastings added 21. Godwin will now go head to head with OK Silver rival, Calvin Christian, who improved to 11-0 today with a 66-42 win over Wyoming Lee.
Sparta High School came out on top as well in a battle of OK Blue teams. The Spartans beat Belding, 62-45, putting them at 9-2 on the season and a perfect, 5-0 in conference play.
Comstock Park too is perfect at 5-0 in the OK Blue, 9-2 on the season with a non-conference win over Hastings. The Panthers used a big third quarter fueled by Ryan Schall's 27 points. Schall hit a bucket and a foul, making the free throw, to give Comstock Park a 53-51 lead with 37 seconds left. The Panthers won 58-54.
