August 7 will be the last day for the Grand Rapids Griffins' annual youth hockey camp.
If you are between the age of 6 and 16 and want to maximize your skills through on-ice instruction, dry-land training and off-ice instruction, come down to the Griff's IceHouse.
On-ice sessions go from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:15 p.m.
Griffins and Red Wings star Justin Abdelkader is scheduled to visit the camp Friday for the afternoon session.
The camp, which began August 3, has been operated under the management of Griffins VP of broadcasting and community relations, Bob Kaser, and under the instruction of Griffins assistant coach Jim Paek.
Dozens of children have taken part in the camp and donations from sponsors have enabled 12 children from the Griffins Youth Foundation programs to participate at no cost.
