MENDON, Mich. (WOOD) - For the third straight week, the defending state champion Mendon Hornets will be playing a team from out of state.
The Hornets are a 3-0 this season and coming off their 10th state championship in 24 years under head coach John Schwartz.
They have been so good for so long that they're having trouble finding local teams willing to play them during the non-conference schedule.
Two weeks ago they beat Howe Military Academy (Ind.) 40-0 at home, and Edgerton High School 48-21 in Ohio last week.
On Friday, Mendon plays Milton High School in Ontario, Canada.
