PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) -- The Portage Police Department arrested a man for not telling his sex partners that he is HIV positive.
Travis Kurtz, 25, of Kalamazoo faces two counts, each a felony punishable by up to four years in prison.
So far, two victims have filed complaints with police. Investigators say the first victim came forward after hearing rumors of Kurtz' HIV status. The second victim came forward soon after.
"I don't know if the two parties knew each other or how the word
got around, but the second individual has heard that our first
victim had been here and informed the police department about this
crime," Portage Police Chief Richard White told 24 Hour News 8.

This is the second similar case in West Michigan in as many weeks. In Carson City, Gerald Campbell Jr. faces several charges for failing to tell his partners that he is HIV positive, as well as two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. At least two of his alleged victims were under the age of 16.
