ZEELAND, Mich. (WOOD) - Kathy Cutshall and Delores Allen spent Friday together remembering their kids who were killed four years ago.

"August 15th will always be important to us," Kathy Cutshall said. "It's the day our kids went to be with the Lord."

The Sonoma County
Sheriff's Department
told 24 Hour News 8
there are no leads,
but the case remains
an open investigation.
In 2004, Lindsay Cutshall and her fiancé Jason Allen were working as counselors at a Christian youth camp in northern California. They were camping on a beach when someone shot them in the head. Nothing was stolen. There was no apparent motive - and no leads.

Their parents - Kathy and Chris Cutshall and Delores and Bob Allen - spent the day together. The loss of their kids binds them together.

"Instead of moving on, we think of carrying on," Chris Cutshall told 24 Hour News 8. "When you go through what we've gone through with the Allen family, there is a very special bond that will always be there between the two families. We will always be family."

The Cutshalls and Allens hope the $50,000 reward or a tip could help crack the case.

"Sometimes, it takes just one person talking before to break the case open," Bob Allen said. "That wasn't right for someone to take their lives like that. But it's not right for someone to know something and keep quiet, too, because they know something about two innocent people who were murdered."

Kathy Cutshall said it's easier when the four of them are together. "Bob and Delores and Chris and I flew to California and spent that first week out there four years ago. So we spent the first anniversary together. We'll do our best to spend the rest."

The murder of Lindsay and Jason is part of a plot in a low-budget film a California filmmaker is working on. Lindsay's parents said the movie, "Adventure," is fictional. Though they know it's fiction, the Cutshalls are concerned with how it portrays their daughter and her fiancé.
