MSTRKRFT electrifies Rothbury

Duo follows The Dead, pumps up crowd

ROTHBURY, Mich. (WOOD) - As Satuday's Deadheads poured out of The Odeum, a different mood bellowed from the Sherwood Court. Kicking off the Fourth of July fireworks. MSTRKRFT electrified the Rothbury 2009 stage.

Toronto electronic duo MSTRKRFT, (pronounced Mastercraft), lived up to its name. Pumping out remixed songs by big names such as Justice and Daft Punk as well as their own masterfully crafted songs, MSTRKRFT had concertgoers entranced into its complex beats.

Despite a few audio problems at the beginning of the show, fans connected with MSTRKRFT's uniquely remixed, danceworthy, club-electronic music. The crazies were out in full force, showcasing some awesome moves in dance circles and throughout the festival grounds. Looking around, you could see each person dancing to his or her own beat.

Unlike other shows I have covered this weekend, I must say, the energy at this show was unique.

Spirits were high following The Dead's much-anticipated back-to-back sets. But the fireworks mixed with electronic dance music made for a great time.

MSTRKRFT rocked this year's stage.
