Volunteers build 5,000 lb. popcorn ball
City trying to regain world record title

Volunteers in Sac City, Iowa worked feverishly over the weekend to try and break a record for the world's biggest popcorn ball.
The town held the title in 1995 and 2004, and now they want it back.
1500 pounds of popcorn, 2400 pounds of sugar and 11 pounds of corn syrup were used to craft the ball, and the finished product weighed in at a whopping 5,000 pounds!
It will be six months before the volunteers know if they broke the record.
