GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - After taking on the unions and surviving a recall election, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has become something of a rock star in the Republican Party. And he's on the campaign trail for the Romney-Ryan ticket.

Walker, a lightning rod for criticism from Democrats and unions, brought his message of fiscal austerity, government reform and pro-business policies to Michigan to stump for the GOP standard bearers.

He said his friend and fellow Wisconsinite Paul Ryan's selection for the vice presidential slot proved Mitt Romney's serious about changing the way government functions in Washington. He said there is a lot that needs to be changed.

After holding a roundtable and rally in Grand Rapids, Walker sat down for a one-on-one interview for this Sunday's episode of To The Point, Sunday at 10 a.m. on WOOD TV8.
