GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The secretly-taped video of Mitt Romney at a fundraiser that has been raising questions lately includes references to Michigan's governor.
About 13 minutes and 30 seconds into the video that has been making its rounds in national media, Romney makes a brief statement about Gov. Rick Snyder.
The former Massachusetts governor and presidential candidate's words aren't glowing, but perhaps can't be labeled derisive, either.
"He's a strange guy," a voice that sounds like Romney's says on the tape. "He calls himself one tough nerd. He's an IT guy."
Romney continues to comment that Snyder rarely wears a tie.
The Detroit Free Press, which originally reported on the comments focused on Snyder, reached out for comment from the Snyder campaign.
"It sounds like Gov. Romney was just having some lighthearted conversation," a spokeswoman told them.
And, she noted to the Detroit Free Press, it's true that Snyder does call himself one tough nerd, is an IT guy, and doesn't wear a tie.
