GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) -- Rep. Pete Hoekstra joined 24 Hour News 8 live Wednesday to discuss the deaths of two West Michigan residents shot down in a plane over Peru in 2001.

Roni Bowers and her infant daughter were killed in the crash. Her husband, son and the pilot survived. The missionaries were mistaken for drug smugglers when the plane went down.

Hoekstra has long criticized the CIA for its role in helping Peruvian fighter pilots target the plane.
