ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 40-year-old Comstock Park man robbed a Chase Bank on Wednesday afternoon and got away, but about an hour later, called 911 and turned himself in.
He came to the bank, located at 4366 Alpine Ave., at around 11:08 a.m. with a firearm in his waistband, demanding money with a note. Afterward, he fled on foot.
At around 12:20 p.m., he placed the call to 911 and confessed to the robbery.
He told dispatchers: "I'm the one that robbed the bank and I wanted to turn myself in."
That is all he had to say, said Lt. Kevin Kelley of the Kent County Sheriff's Department.
The suspect's name has not been released. The sheriff's department is working with the FBI on the case.
