INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Federal prosecutors say an Indiana man tricked 10 teenagers in nine states into performing sex acts online that he secretly recorded and used to coerce them into making more sexually explicit videos.
Prosecutors formally charged 39-year-old Richard Finkbiner with child sexual exploitation, extortion and possession of child pornography in Indianapolis on Tuesday. They plan to seek an effective life sentence if Finkbiner is convicted.
Court documents allege the man from Brazil, Ind., tricked nine boys ( including one from Grand Rapids) and one girl into performing sex acts online by feeding recorded pornographic images through his computer, making them believe they were live images of him.
Finkbiner also is charged with threatening to post partially nude images of two teenage girls online.
Finkbiner's federal public defender didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
Finkbiner also faces federal charges in Michigan.
