GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Some birth-control pills are being recalled because of a packaging error.
Officials say the error could lead to unexpected pregnancy.
Qualitest Pharmaceutical is recalling certain lots of Cyclafem, Emoquette, Gildess, Orsythia, Previfem and Tri-Previfem.
The error caused the weekly tablet orientation to be reversed. Instead of three weeks of medication followed by one week of placebo pills, the placebo pills were first in the packages.
Pharmacists are being asked to contact any patients who have filled the recall prescriptions recently.
If you are on any of the above birth control medications, you may call 1-877-300-6153 to find out more.
