LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) - Michigan State Police announced that 698.75 pounds of prescription drugs were collected at MSP posts across the state on the semi-annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day held Sept. 29.
The MSP partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration and other local law enforcement agencies to provide a venue for citizens to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.
All 29 MSP posts participated by serving as drop-off points. The drugs were then destroyed.

* Brighton – 85 lbs
* Cadillac – 6.5 lbs
* Calumet – 12.5 lbs
* Caro – 21 lbs
* Coldwater – 10 lbs
* Flint – 15 lbs
* Gaylord – 1.8 lbs
* Gladstone – 15 lbs
* Hart – 11 lbs
* Houghton Lake – 10 lbs
* Iron Mountain – 60 lbs
* Jackson – 68.1 lbs
* Lakeview – 18 lbs
* Lansing – 52 lbs
* Lapeer – 18 lbs
* Metro – 17 lbs
* Monroe – 9 lbs
* Mt. Pleasant – 15 lbs
* Negaunee – 26 lbs
* Niles – 46 lbs
* Paw Paw – 12.5 lbs
* Rockford – 38 lbs
* Sault Ste. Marie – 20 lbs
* St. Ignace – 1.3 lbs
* Wakefield – 7.25 lbs
* Wayland – 18 lbs
* West Branch – 1.2 lbs
