80 soldiers from 125th Battalion arrived Sunday

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - An infantry battalion from the Michigan National Guard has returned home after a year in Afghanistan.

About 80 soldiers from the 125th Battalion arrived Sunday morning at Capital City Airport near Lansing. Of those 80, 11 are from Wyoming and arrived at the Grand Valley Armory Sunday afternoon.

The unit was involved in security missions and assisted the Afghan police.

The battalion is based in Flint and has companies in Detroit, Alpena, Wyoming, Big Rapids and Bay City.
