Mich jobless rate falls;down 2.2% in yr

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan reports that that the seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate dropped 0.4 percentage points statewide and fell in 15 of 17 major labor markets.

The March figures released Thursday show joblessness statewide at 9%, compared with 9.4% in February and 11.2 percent in March 2011.

The figures show lower unemployment rates everywhere on a year-to-year basis.

Seasonally adjusted joblessness has been falling for months in Michigan. It stood at 8.8% in February.
