Disabled vets can hunt, fish for free
Under a new state law

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Disabled military veterans can receive free hunting and fishing licenses on or after March 1 under a new state law.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says hunters or anglers just have to show proof of eligibility when they buy and use the licenses.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs defines a disabled veteran as someone permanently and totally disabled as a result of military service and entitled to veterans' benefits at the 100-percent rate for a disability other than blindness, or is rated as individually unemployable.
Licenses will be available through retail agents and online when regularly priced licenses go on sale throughout the year.
Legally blind anglers who are not disabled veterans can still receive their fishing licenses at senior rates.
