The IRS may owe you money.

A total of 2,009 Michigan taxpayers are owed a combined $2.3 million in refunds from the Internal Revenue Service. These statewide residents didn't receive the money because, for one reason or another, their mailing address was incorrect.

If you need to update your address with the IRS, just do it once and the check will be sent. Simply go to "Where's My Refund?" on irs.gov . A taxpayer can check their refund status. If you're owed money, follow the prompts and the delivery problem can be resolved.

If you choose to use the telephone, call the "Where's My Refund?" hotline at 1.800.829.1954.

The average refund awaiting a taxpayer in these undelivered checks is $1,181, and some taxpayers are due more than one check.

Nationally, more than 107,000 people are due $123.5 million.
