LUDINGTON, Mich. (AP) - Six sites in Michigan have been nominated to the National Register of Historic Places, including the Lake Michigan Beach House at Ludington State Park.
The State Historic Preservation Review Board recently approved the nominations. The Lake Michigan Beach House near Ludington was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935.
Other sites nominated for the register include the Iron Mountain Central Historic District, the Norwegian Lutheran Church Complex in Alpena County's Long Rapids Township and the Wright Opera House Block Complex in the Gratiot County community of Alma.
The Lower Trout Lake Bathhouse Complex and Contact Station at Bald Mountain Recreation Area near Lake Orion in Oakland County and the Emanuel and Elizabeth (Burkhardt) Rentschler Farmstead in the Washtenaw County community of Saline also are nominated.
