LANSING, Mich. (AP) - New figures show seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates for Michigan's 17 major labor markets were mixed in June.

The state said Thursday that jobless rates increased in nine regions and declined in seven regions. The rate didn't change in the Battle Creek area.

Ann Arbor had the lowest regional jobless rate at 9.3 percent in June, although that's up from 8.8 percent in May.

The northeast Lower Peninsula had the highest jobless rate at 14.2 percent in June. But that's down from 14.5 percent in May.

Unemployment rates were lower in June in 14 of the 17 major regions from a year ago.

Michigan's statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 13.2 percent was second-highest in the nation last month behind only Nevada.
