LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The Michigan Chamber of Commerce says it wants Gov. Rick Snyder to propose lowering taxes on business equipment and spending more money on roads in his second annual State of the State address Wednesday.
A coalition of workers' rights groups asks for less help for business, more money for schools and more weeks of unemployment benefits.
As Snyder readies for his Wednesday night address, there's been no shortage of proposals for what needs attention.
Retailers on Tuesday pressed the governor to make companies such as Amazon pay sales tax on purchases, while children's advocates called for spending more on early childhood education.
Snyder will deliver his State of the State address to lawmakers, top administration officials and others at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Capitol.
The State of the State address on Wednesday is going to include some mixed grades on how well Snyder has succeeded in making Michigan a better place to live.
On the down side, the percentage of the state's population holding a bachelor's degree has dropped, and the percentage of children living in poverty is stuck at 23 percent. On the up side, the monthly unemployment rate is in single digits for the first time in three years, and the number of online services offered by the state is up nearly 10 percent.

Snyder plans to hold an online town hall with Michigan residents on Thursday.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday. It will be streamed live on Facebook on the governor's Rick for Michigan page.
Residents can submit questions in advance at the state website. They also can post questions on the governor's Facebook wall or send a message on Twitter to the governor at @onetoughnerd using the hash tag, #AskGovSnyder.
Questions also can be submitted through Facebook and Twitter once the town hall meeting has started.
