GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The price for unleaded gasoline may drop to close to $3 per gallon in coming days, according to GasBuddy.com.

Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com , said wholesale gas for the Great Lakes region is at its lowest level in more than a year and a half. He said he expects this will drive prices down.

DeHaan said gas prices tend to dip between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

He said prices are volatile in West Michigan, and a small price spike is likely in the near future.

DeHaan said he thinks gas prices around Christmas will hold not far above $3 per gallon.
