GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - David Joos is in favor of finding newer, cleaner ways to generate power, but warns that having balance in such a plan is important to keep the cost from skyrocketing.

Joos has a stake in this discussion. He is the president and CEO of CMS Energy, better known as Consumers Energy. The company delivers service to about 6.5 million people in Michigan, and has plans for a new coal-fired generating plant waiting for approval.

CMS is also under a mandate from legislation passed in 2008 to produce an increasing amount of energy from alternative or renewable sources.

Joos will be a guest on To The Point on June 14.

To The Point is pre-empted on June 7 due to French Open tennis coverage on WOOD TV8.
