COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Three youths were hospitalized after smoking synthetic marijuana, according to Michigan State Police.
Troopers were dispatched at 4:23 p.m. Feb. 8 to reports of a child walking near N. Behnke Road in Coldwater Township.
"The child was described as wearing shorts and socks and acting 'out of it,'" according to a news release.
The investigation revealed three children -- aged 12-13 -- had been smoking the drug, according to Michigan State Police. The drug is often sold under the names Spice or K2, and has been marketed as a mix of dried herbs and spices sprayed with chemicals.
An ambulance crew transported the children to Community Health Center of Branch County in Coldwater. The children were later treated and released.
