STURGIS, Mich. (WOOD) - Authorities in St. Joseph County continue to investigate the death of a woman.
Sturgis police were dispatched at 10:20 a.m. Sunday to a home in the 700 block of Myrtle Street to assist EMS crews with "a cardiac arrest with extenuating circumstances."
Officers arrived and found a deceased elderly woman, according to a news release.
The "manner of death was not readily apparent," police said, and a medical examiner's office ordered an autopsy for Monday.
Crime scene investigators from the Sturgis Police Department and St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department are conducting an investigation.
