UNION PIER, Mich. (WOOD) - Three people from Chicago were injured after their vehicle crashed on a Michigan highway.
It happened about 11:02 a.m. Sunday in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 near mile marker 5 near Union Pier in Berrien County.
Neydi Funez, 20, was driving the 2003 Jeep Liberty and swerved to miss a deer carcass in the road, police said.
Funez then lost control of her vehicle, which went into the median fence, jumped the fence and rolled over, according to a news release.
Two adult rear seat passengers -- Ann Funez and Cynthia Funez -- were ejected as the vehicle was rolling.
A medical helicopter took Cynthia to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
The other two occupants also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
