CENTREVILLE, Mich. (AP) - An Oct. 27 trial date is set for the parents of a Centreville teenager who was chained to her bed when she died in a house fire.
Attorneys reviewed the witness list Monday.
The Kalamazoo Gazette reports it was the last scheduled hearing before jury selection in the trial of Anthony and Marsha Springer gets under way.
The Springers are charged with felony murder, torture and first-degree child abuse in the February 2008 death of 16-year-old Calista Springer, who authorities say died after her residence caught fire and she was unable to escape because she was tethered to her bed.
The Associated Press made calls Tuesday morning seeking comment from defense counsel. John Bush had no comment, and a message was left for Victor Bland.
