STURGIS, Mich. (WOOD) - Police, with the assistance of some gas station employees, were able to track down a man accused of robbing the business.
The crime occurred at 5 a.m. Sunday at the Admiral Gas Station East in Sturgis when the suspect showed a knife and threatened the clerk behind the counter, according to a news release.
The suspect was given some cash and then fled the scene, police said.
Police developed a suspect using information from previous arrest warrant investigations earlier in the month.
The gas station employees then positively identified the suspect.
Sturgis police officers and St. Joseph County sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant at 11 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Laura Drive. The suspect was there and ran from the scene.
A short chase ensued and ended when officers used a stun gun on the suspect who was then taken into custody.
Some of the money from the robbery was recovered.
