WAVERLY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A teenager was arrested on numerous charges after driving recklessly along a Van Buren County road.
The 18-year-old from Portage faces charges of operating under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle without insurance.
Deputies saw the suspect speeding and his SUV nearly striking other vehicles along M-43 west of M-40 in Waverly Township Friday afternoon.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop around 2 p.m., talked with the driver and noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle.
Police seized 10 grams of marijuana from the suspect who was taken into custody on the aforementioned charges.
The case has been given to the prosecutor’s office.
