PORTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Two of three young men died after their speeding vehicle crashed along a Cass County road.

Ross Gambill, 19, from Osceola, Ind. told police he and two of his friends were traveling east on Chapel Hill Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle then struck a tree east of Baldwin Prairie Road in Porter Township around 9:14 p.m. Tuesday, police said in a news release.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old Gabriel Spencer-Forsyth from Tennessee.

A second passenger was identified as 20-year-old Kevin Shupert from Elkhart, Ind.

Spencer-Forsyth and Shupert died at the scene as a result of their injuries.

Gambill was transported to Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

Gambill and Shupert wore seat belts at the time of the crash, police said, but Spencer-Forsyth did not.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
