Palisades plant down for repair

COVERT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - The Palisades nuclear power plant shut down to repair its water pump system. Operators of the plant said Palisades was disconnected from the electric grid early Saturday morning.
The plant is located in Van Buren County's Covert Township and is owned by Energy Corp.
Palisades had several operating problems in 2012, including two shutdowns in January and April .
According to Palisades, the plant will return to service after repair work has been completed.
