NILES, Mich. (WOOD) - A Niles police officer was sentenced Friday for sexually assaulting a suspect in the department complex's bathroom.
Ivery Cross will spend the next five to 15 years in prison. In a plea deal, he admitted to three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of misconduct in office.
It was March 17 when the 25-year-old took the 19-year-old suspect into custody on a drug charge. Cross admitted assaulting the young man while they were alone in the bathroom.
