CASSOPOLIS, Mich. (WOOD) - Two suspects arrested in northern Indiana on Thursday are thought to have committed a rash of burglaries throughout Cass County since Labor Day.

The Cass County burglaries happened during daytime hours while people are away from their houses and have taken place in all areas of the county, according to a news release.

The thieves took small items such as jewelry and cash, police said.

On Thursday morning, the sheriff's department in St. Joseph County (Ind.) informed Cass County authorities that deputies had arrested two suspects while they were allegedly robbing a home near North Liberty, Ind.

One suspected vehicle in Cass County was described as a grey or silver, mid-sized car with an Indiana temporary paper license plate and two white males in it, Cass County authorities said. A vehicle fitting that description was also used in the North Liberty burglary, Indiana authorities said.

Evidence now implicates the two suspects in more than 10 burglaries in Cass County since Labor Day, according to a joint investigation.

One of the suspects is a juvenile, so his name is being withheld.

The other suspect is an adult and is currently awaiting extradition to Michigan. His name is being withheld pending arraignment in the Cass County burglaries.
