HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Sixteen people, including 14 minors, are facing charges after deputies broke up a party in Van Buren County early Saturday morning.
A number of people tried to flee when deputies arrived, and a 17-year-old boy managed to get away. A warrant has been requested for him.
Deputies found several people passed out in the woods on the property in the 54000 block of County Road 360 Hamilton Township and inside a home on the property.
A 24-year-old man was arrested for resisting and obstructing. A 20-year-old man was also arrested and cited for an minor in possession (MIP) of alcohol by consumption and allowing a minor in possession of alcohol and drugs on the premises.
In addition, eight males between 17 and 20 years old were arrested and cited for MIPs. Six females between 17 and 20 years old were also arrested and cited for being minors in possession of alcohol.
Multiple patrol vehicles were needed to take the suspects to the Van Buren County Jail.
Two of the suspects arrested are on misdemeanor probation out of the 7th District Court East for prior MIP charges.
