THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WOOD) - Suspicious behavior near a hotel led to the arrest of two people and the seizure of a large amount of methamphetamine.

Officers from the Three Rivers Police Department stopped a car for a traffic violation as its driver left the hotel's parking lot near U.S. 131 and W. Michigan Ave.

Officers talked with the driver and passenger, searched the car and found more than 50 grams of meth having a street value of $5,000.

The two suspects were taken to the police department and interviewed by SCAN -- the St. Joseph County Area Narcotics unit.

Police then obtained a warrant, and along with the sheriff's department searched a room at that hotel.

The suspects were then taken to jail and held without bond on felony charges, including transporting drugs.

Police say they expect to seek charges against others allegedly connected to this investigation.
