CALVIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - The search has ended for a man accused of robbing two Michigan businesses and some Indiana banks.
Edward Wing, 39, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning in Calvin Township.
Wing allegedly robbed Hilltop Laundry, 13599 U.S. 12 in Union, on Sept. 18, and then Hilltop Gas Station on Sept. 21. He is also the suspect in Elkhart County (Ind.) for recent bank robberies, according to a news release.
Detectives from the Cass County Sheriff's Department saw Wing's vehicle at 5:05 p.m. Monday. After a brief pursuit, the suspect drove into a cornfield near Walnut Road and Sears Street, south of Vandalia.
Wing then fled on foot into the cornfield. A Michigan State Police helicopter and K-9 units assisted in the search with numerous Cass County agencies, but he was still not found as of 10 p.m. Monday.
Cass County authorities then received a tip of Wing's location in Calvin Township and were able to track him down early Tuesday morning.
