UNION, Mich. (WOODAP) - A 45-year-old man is charged criminal sexual conduct after authorities say a 15-year-old New York state girl who met him online was found in southwest Michigan.
The Cass County sheriff's office says Dean Young was arraigned Friday and held on a $75,000 bond.
The girl was found uninjured at 11 p.m. Aug. 23 in a home in the 71000 block of Spencer Drive in Union. She was turned over the next day to her parents who drove from their New York home to pick up their daughter.
Michigan authorities were alerted to the girl's whereabouts by the FBI. The girl had run away from her home in Monroe, about 50 miles northwest of New York City.
Young had recently moved from Tucscon, Ariz. to Union where he had been living with a friend, police said in a news release.
Young also is charged with possession of child pornography and using a computer for the solicitation of a minor for immoral purposes.
