NILES, Mich. (AP) - A Michigan judge has tossed out a contempt charge against a woman who got in trouble for cursing in a courthouse.
Berrien County Trial Court Judge Charles LaSata on Friday dismissed the charge against 49-year-old LaRue Ford.
She was charged with contempt after a clerk heard Ford use a profanity while trying to take care of an old traffic ticket on Dec. 4 in southwestern Michigan.
According to the South Bend (Ind.) Tribune , Ford says she's pleased to have the misdemeanor behind her, referring to the past month as "grueling" and "tiring."
