COLDWATER, Mich. (WOOD) - Coldwater police and Michigan State Police found a body just south of Coldwater, near Sprague Road and Dorrance Road, around 10:15 a.m. Saturday.
Michigan Search and Rescue, a volunteer group of K-9 handlers, were searching for 25-year-old Jesse Holibaugh who has been missing since Aug. 20.
24 Hour News 8 spoke with Jesse's father, Terry Holibaugh, Saturday afternoon. He said authorities told him they are 99% sure the body they found is Jesse's, but they won't be certain until autopsy results are returned.
Terry Holibaugh said Jesse was wearing certain things that were located on the body that was found Saturday.
Terry said he is relieved that he doesn't have to worry about Jesse being alone and in the cold anymore, and takes comfort in knowing he can lie him to rest with his mother soon.
Terry said he is thankful for all of the help and support he has received from the community the past few weeks.
