Fire damages some businesses in Colon

At least three businesses affected

COLON, Mich. (WOOD) - A fire damaged at least three businesses in downtown Colon.

The fire sparked Friday morning at Curlys/Papa Mancino's, 110 E. State St., according to authorities in St. Joseph County.

The fire then spread to Prudential Realtors.

Five Star Pizza sustained water and smoke damage.

Colon Community Schools closed at 1:30 p.m. due to a water shortage in the town as a result of the firefight.

A cause of the fire is unknown.
