PAW PAW, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman was arrested following an apparent drunken-driving crash in Van Buren County.

The 33-year-old Paw Paw resident and her 34-year-old male passenger, also from Paw Paw, were not hurt in the wreck.

The driver had a blood alcohol content of .223% at the time of the crash and taken to jail for operating while intoxicated - second offense.

The suspect was driving in the 100 block of W. Michigan Avenue in Paw Paw when the vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole, which broke in half, according to a police news release.

A witness called 911 around 1:39 a.m. Tuesday and said it appeared the driver was trying to leave the crash scene.

The occupants were standing outside the vehicle when deputies arrived.
