CONSTANTINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A teenage driver suffered minor injuries after crashing an SUV when she swerved to avoid a dog in a road and lost control of the vehicle.
While on patrol, some St. Joseph County sheriff's deputies noticed the crashed vehicle near N. River Road and Winding River Road in Constantine Township.
An investigation reveals the 16-year-old female from Constantine swerved to miss the animal, resulting in the vehicle going off the road and overturning around 6:34 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
The teen called her parents, who live nearby and arrived at the scene before the deputies.
The teen was transported to a hospital.
She wore her seat belt at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor in the wreck, police said.
