ALMENA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - One driver was arrested and another was cited following a two-vehicle crash in Van Buren County.
Witnesses told police that Jason Koole was driving a Mercury Sable and signaling to turn left onto 44th Avenue from M-40 in Almena Township. But he turned right instead of left.
The driver of a GMC Envoy tried to pass Koole's vehicle on the right, resulting in both vehicles colliding, police said.
Police arrived at the scene around 6:42 p.m. Sunday.
The driver of the Envoy -- a 57-year-old man from Paw Paw -- was arrested for operating while intoxicated after his blood-alcohol level was 0.13, police said.
Koole -- 20 and from Kalamazoo -- was cited for failing to signal a right turn.
Neither driver was hurt and both were wearing their seat belts at the time, police said.
