BUCHANAN, Mich. (WOOD) - A 32-year-old Buchanan resident was ejected from a vehicle after the Nissan crashed into a tree, police said.
The victim was driving north on Red Bud Trail and lost control due to high speeds around 10:45 p.m. Monday, police said in a news release.
"The vehicle began to yaw, crossed the center line into the south lane then crossed back into the north lane leaving the road to the right."
The vehicle struck a large tree and the driver was ejected near Little Glendora Road in Buchanan.
The driver was identified as Dustin Burger, 32, from Buchanan, who was taken to Memorial Hospital of South Bend. A current medical condition is unknown.
Alcohol was not a factor, according to the Berrien County Sheriff's Department.
The investigation continues and the report will be sent to the prosecutor's office for review.
