ALMENA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A 48-year-old woman from Allegan died in a head-on collision in Van Buren County late Thursday night.
The two-car crash happened around 10:10 p.m. on M-43 near Fish Hatchery Road when a westbound Chevy Lumina crossed the center line of M-43 and smashed into a Mitsubishi Gallant, Michigan State Police authorities said.
Officials said both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles. The driver of the Lumina, 48-year-old Tonya Howe of Allegan, died at the scene. The condition of the other unidentified driver is not known.
