BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - A small airplane made a hard landing at the end of the runway near U.S. 31 on Monday, but no one was hurt.
Some nearby residents called police around 3:15 p.m. to report the possible crash. The home they called from overlooks Andrews Airpark, in Berrien Springs.
Investigators arrived within minutes of the call and found two people walking from the plane, uninjured. Those were the only two people on the aircraft.
The single-prop Piper PA 28R-200, owned by Andrews University, was being used for flight instruction. Both people on the plane were FAA licensed pilots, but one was working to upgrade his license. Police did not release their names.
There was a small fuel leakage at the crash site.
